Because the DC25 has a wider cleaning path, it can clean faster than the smaller DC They were virtually the same for both of these tests as far as cleaning capabilities go.
The best thing about these is how well they maneuver to fit into tight spaces and under overhanging items. The Ball vacuum is the best for cleaning under kitchen cabinets since there is no need to get out attachments.
We will give the edge to the DC24 simply because it is lighter, which makes it easier to bend and turn. There is only one on board tool for the lightweight DC24 Ball. It is a combination debris nozzle and upholstery brush. The DC25 comes with a combination tool too, but also has a small stair brush. The biggest difference is the long reach wand. On the DC25, the wand is already attached to the hose. You simply pull up on the wand and it comes out. You can immediately start cleaning.
On the lightweight Dyson DC24, you have to slide the wand out of the hose. Then you have to turn the wand around and reattach it to the hose. The lightweight Dyson DC24 was nicer to use on stairs. Yes, the DC25 comes with a stair brush, but the debris nozzle of the DC24 works just fine.
The reason we preferred the DC24 was due to its lighter weight. We could carry it up step by step as we vacuumed the stairs.
It only weighs about 12 pounds, so you can hold the unit with one hand, and vacuum with the wand or hose with the other hand. The DC25 is the heavy model with greater suction power. There are some other differences between these two units that are worth pointing out. The cord on the lightweight ball is only 20 feet long.
The DC25 is over 25 feet long. Using a decibel reader we also tested how loud each model was. As expected, the less powerful DC24 was quieter at decibels, and the DC25 was louder at decibels. One more difference that could play a large roll, no pun intended, in which ball you choose is the price. Similarities between the two models include obviously the Ball.
You really have to use it to really appreciate the maneuverability. It makes a boring chore, vacuuming, quite fun. The filtration quality of both vacuums is also excellent.
Using an airborne particle scanner we detected zero particles larger than 0. This means the Dyson DC24 and DC25 are ideal for people who are allergic to dust, dander, or other airborne particulates.
The maintenance is also the same for both models. The Dyson is enticing. A friend of mine kept raving about her Dyson vacuum cleaner so finally I asked her to bring it over and let me try. It was amazing! It picked up all the pet hair and the canister was so full. I researched the Dysons and chose to go with the animal DC24 with the ball my friend's did not have the ball.
It has really been amazing. The suction is very powerful and picks up everything. My only complaint is when you go to take the canister off the vacuum, sometimes it releases the bottom and dust starts to fall out everywhere-which you have to clean of the vacuum and clean the floor again.
I have learned to be very gentle when pushing the release button and then hold the bottom as I take it off. Other than that, it is awesome and I look forward to many years of using it. I had heard great thinks about the Dyson so I bought one. It does a very good job of picking up dirt, lint, hair, etc. No complaints there. What I do not like is that the cord is very short and you cannot attach an extension cord. It will not reach across my bedroom even. The suction head I guess you call it that, the wide, front part that sucks up dirt is not very wide.
This is good to get into small areas but if you have a large house to vacuum, it takes a long time and you must make 2 swipes for every one of the large head on my old vacuum. I guess it would all depend on how large your home is and what you needed a vacuum for if I would recommend this vacuum or not. My wife and I purchased the DC24 about three months ago.
Both of us love it. My wife has used it more than I have and she is extremely pleased with it's maneuverability and ease of use. Besides being a Dyson and purchasing it for the quality and it's reputation, our main concern was it's size and weight.
My wife has had surgery on her lower back and cleaning with our old vacuum was quite a challenge. We have wood, tile and carpet throughout our house, and the DC24 works great on all types of surfaces. Because of it's small size and weight, I was a little skeptical of it's power, but it definitely exceeds my expectations. The cord is a little shorter than our old vacuum and I have to change outlets more to clean the house.
I wouldn't really consider this a "con", just something that I have to get used to. Another great feature of the DC24 is that it is extremely easy to clean. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a powerful, compact and lightweight vacuum.
Skip to main content. But talking about the powerful vacuum cleaner, there is a name to consider. That name is Dyson. This brand has the good candidates to complete your task. But there is a big question. Which is the best? The similar brand affect to the look of these vacuum cleaners.
Both of them has the identical design. The difference is just located at the size. In here, Dyson DC25 looks bigger and longer. It also affects to the cleaning path.
